CARBONLESS PAPER - NCR
Carbonless paper is often used for delivery notes, order forms, sales tickets.
Depending on the required number of doubles, carbonless paper is composed by 2 sheets, 3 sheets or even 4 sheets. Usually these sheets have each another color so the user knows which sheet he should keep and which sheet is given to the other party.
Carbonless paper printed in offset usually has a weight of 60 g, the NCR paper that is used on digital printers is usually 90gr. For a small number of copies digital printing can be a solution, however, in most cases offset printing is a more suitable solution.
The 2, 3 or 4 sheets are glued together to a fixed set. In most cases, these bundles are glued together in a block of 50 or 100 pieces reinforced with a cardboard in the back of the block. To ensure that the different sheets detach easily from the block the sheet are perforated.
Usually the NCR paper is printed on both sides: the front side contains information about the product or service of the contract, the backside is printed with the general conditions of the company in question. The front can be printed in 1, 2 or 4 colors, the back is usually printed in 1 color.
Often each set of doubles is numbered so that each set has its own identity. This is done directly on the offset press.
This number used can be a different color than the rest of the printed colors.
The turnaround time to print in offset carbonless paper is 5 working days. In a digital printing process it is possible to get the printed work the same day.
